Bribie Island, Queensland: Shocking footage shows locals using metal poles and rocks in violent roadside brawl
Troubling footage has emerged of four people using metal poles and rocks as weapons during a violent roadside brawl.
The video shows two men and two women exchanging blows on First Avenue in Woorim, on Bribie Island in Queensland’s Moreton Bay Region, at about 10.40pm on Thursday night.
A witness shared the expletive-ridden footage with a local community group.
‘I definitely wasn’t intervening … the women were extremely intoxicated and those guys were big,’ the resident claimed.

‘(There was) basically two women walking, who seemed to already have weapons on hand, a red commodore pulled up quickly and they were obviously known to each other.
‘The blokes searching for a guy, things got heated, looked like maybe red shirt pushed the woman before she threw what appeared to be a rock, you can hear the impact when it hit the both of them.’
The identities of those involved in the roadside clash remain unknown.
Queensland Police said they are aware of the situation and are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
‘No one has been charged. Anyone with information or vision of the incident is urged to contact police,’ a spokesperson said.
Bribie Island is 34km long and in some places only 8km wide. It is the only island off the Queensland coast to be joined to the mainland by a bridge.
