Bride and Prejudice’s Seyat proposes with an engagement ring designed by Bachelor ring designer

Channel 7’s controversial new reality show Bride and Prejudice: The Forbidden Weddings has been accused of shamelessly borrowing elements from Channel 9’s rival program Married At First Sight.

And it seems the show’s creators may have also looked to Channel 10’s The Bachelor for inspiration when it came to sourcing an engagement ring for stars Seyat and Jess.

During Tuesday’s night’s episode, he young couple were seen selecting a diamond engagement ring from a case of jewels designed by Australian brand Zamels.

That looks familiar! Bride and Prejudice star Seyat proposed to Jess with an engagement ring designed by the SAME jeweller that created Bachelor couple Sam and Snezana’s infamous ‘Cheezel’ promise band

Eagle-eyed fans quickly realised that the brand Zamels has cropped up on reality television before, namely during Sam Wood’s season of The Bachelor in 2015.

During Sam’s finale, the hunky personal trainer lovingly presented his winner Snezana Markoski with a diamond ring- also by Zamels.

The ring quickly made headlines across the nation after viewers branded the design as ‘ugly’ and likened it to a Cheezel or a Burger Ring.

‘I copped a fair bit of flak for the ring that I gave her on the show,’ Sam told Nova 100’s Chrissie, Sam & Browny in 2016.

Luckily for Seyat, Jess seemed thrilled with her princess-cut diamond sparkler.

It comes after Seven was accused of modelling it’s revamped second season of Bride and Prejudice on Nine’s ratings juggernaut Married At First Sight.

From the shows’ seemingly-identical dinner parties, promotional videos and ‘shock reveals’ to it’s ‘expert’ counselling sessions’, it’s easy to see why eyebrows have been raised.

Despite this, Bride and Prejudice star Philippa Bennett and her fiancé Ry McLean are adamant that their reality series has more substance than its rival dating show.

‘Married At First Sight is very different, because they meet someone for the first time and marry them – it doesn’t have much to it,’ the bride-to-be told Daily Mail Australia earlier this week.

Phew! Luckily for Seyat, Jess seemed thrilled with her princess-cut diamond sparkler
