Bride leaves hundreds in hysterics after her wedding cake arrives looking different to ordered

Bride leaves hundreds in hysterics after her wedding cake arrives looking VERY different to what she ordered – and she only realises at the reception

  • A bride has laughed off her disastrous wedding cake
  • The cake looked nothing like what she ordered
  • Baker said it’s the same just ‘missing some details’

A bride has urged couples to check their wedding cakes ahead of time after her own ‘failed’ dessert was unveiled at the reception.

Australian bride Taylor Hunt was married last week in a ‘perfect’ ceremony and amused hundreds this week with a photo of the cake she ordered compared to what the baker delivered.

Taylor saw the funny side of the situation but explained the dessert was such a ‘disaster’ they assumed they’d been delivered the wrong one.

‘No one actually checked the cake until cake time,’ she said, visibly amused, in a video on TiKTok.

‘We didn’t have an official cake cutting moment, thank God, because this is the cake.’

The cake she ordered was tall and white with chocolate on the top, white beading and ‘Amore’ scrawled on the side.

The one they received was a ‘naked cake’ of three hastily assembled sponge cakes and a chocolate topper which read ‘My Darling’.

‘The funniest part is my mum was in charge of the cake and she got on the phone right away and text the baker a photo and was like ‘did we get the wrong cake’,’ she said.

She followed up the video by explaining the baker backed up their effort – and said it was the right cake it just ‘missed some details’.

They refused to give her a refund or apology and instead applied a discount to the total cost.

The baker said she received the right cake – it was just ‘missing some details’ and offered a slight discount

‘They should definitely give you a full refund, the cake wasn’t ‘missing a few details’, the only common detail is that it was a cake,’ one woman said.

‘It is crazy how once the wedding is over it feels so perfect – but you should definitely push for a refund on that one,’ another said.

A third suggested they ran out of time to finish it so slapped it together and sent it out naked to save time.

A baker said if she had found out her staff had sent out a cake like that she would be giving a sobbing apology and a refund.

‘As a cake decorator I think they should be put out of business, if this is how they respond to something so disastrous,’ one woman added.

Others demanded she name and shame the bakery so that others can avoid it.

Some asked if mum had ‘attached the right reference picture’ stunned as to how the bakers could think their efforts were appropriate.

‘I know you are laughing but that would have ruined my day,’ one woman said.

‘Lucky you didn’t look when it was delivered – you would have been sad and stressed – at least by cake time everyone is happy enough that it doesn’t matter too much,’ said another.
