Bride stuns in an incredible wedding dress on a TINY budget after Covid postponed her wedding

Bride stuns in an incredible $25 bohemian dress she found on Facebook marketplace – and spends just $1,000 on her dream wedding

  • Bride Alexa Witney, 27, married her beau Kyle Bindon, 30, on April 29, 2021
  • The couple, who live in Perth, spent $1,000 on the stunning elopement
  • Alexa’s dress was a $25 thrifted buy from Facebook and her veil was borrowed
  • She found out the morning of the wedding she was pregnant with a baby girl

A bride has described how she spent just $1,000 on her wedding – including $25 on a white gown – after Covid derailed her nuptials on three separate occasions.

Alexa Witney, 27, and Kyle Bindon, 30, decided on a tiny budget for their big day on April 29 after the global pandemic put a dampener on their original plans and wouldn’t allow for Alexa’s family to fly over to Perth from Canada.

‘We just wanted to spend as little as possible since our wedding was postponed so many times,’ she told Daily Mail Australia.

‘My husband and I don’t like how expendable and wasteful wedding things can be and we wanted to have a little party when my family can fly in from Canada one day, so this elopement needed to be low budget and low waste.’

They originally set their budget at $1,500 but by chance won an engagement shoot on Instagram with a photographer, flowers and makeup.

They decided to schedule the shoot on the same day as their wedding to save on funds.

‘When I won I told the photographer we were going to the court house and asked if we could just do it on that day! My husband and I were going to take our own photos on a tripod so it worked out just perfectly for us,’ Alexa said.

What vendors did the Bindon’s use for their big day?

With a little extra money to spend now that the photos were taken care of the couple chose the adorable Jarrahdale Church in Western Australia as their venue, inviting just five family members to celebrate with them.

‘One of my best friends did my hair and I borrowed jewellery and a veil from my other best friend,’ she said.

Her dress was a backless thrift find on Facebook that fit Alexa like a glove, featuring a V-neck front and tie-up detail at the back.

But ‘the best part’ of the day was finding out the couple were expecting a baby girl just hours before the ceremony was set to begin – with Alexa sharing the news with Kyle after they arrived home.

For their honeymoon the pair hired a caravan and took their two dogs Honey and Mu on a week-long trip down to Esperance, known for its crystal clear water and plentiful wildlife.

They will welcome their first child in early January 2022.
