Bride stuns wedding guests by CUTTING hair between ceremony and reception, gives herself new look

A bride completely stunned her wedding guests by cutting her hair in between the ceremony and the reception — giving herself a shocking new look.

Alyssa Welch, a hairstylist from Columbus, Georgia, decided to chop off most of her locks right after tying the knot, and her friends and family were certainly surprised by the drastic change.

Her salon coworker, close friend, and bridesmaid, Stephanie Lee, pulled out her scissors and gave the bride a haircut moments after she said her I dos and minutes before they headed to the party to celebrate the nuptials.

She took off six inches in total, and recorded the entire thing, sharing a video of the process to TikTok, and it quickly went viral — gaining more than five million views in a matter of days.

‘Instead of a dress change, we chopped the bride’s hair off!’ Stephanie wrote in the clip.

‘Chop chop,’ she added in the caption.

The transformation received mixed reactions online — and although some people thought it was a great idea, others called it ‘extra.’

‘I just made one commitment I don’t think I could do another that fast lol,’ one person joked.

Another added: ‘I honestly absolutely love this trend, I feel like it symbolizes removing the old life and starting new.’

‘You know she’s a fun loving go with the flow girl if she’s down to do something like this. Looks great,’ someone else said.

‘Why?’ a different TikTok user quipped. ‘I mean it looks good, but were you going for a wow factor or something? It’s the same style but a little bit shorter.’

‘Seems extra,’ a fifth comment read. Another wrote, ‘OMG  these are my favorite wedding transitions and if I could go back I’d do it too!’

One final message said, ‘New life, new ‘do.’
