  • Former friend asked if she was invited to big day – despite not talking for years
  • When soon-to-be bride said she wasn’t, bitter pal advised her not to tie the knot

A bride-to-be has revealed her ‘bitter’ ex-friend told her she needed to ‘rethink’ marrying her soon-to-be husband – seconds after finding out she wasn’t invited to the wedding.

The anonymous bride-to-be, believed to be from the US, took to Reddit and penned: ‘Girl I rarely speak to anymore asks if she’s invited to our wedding. After telling her that she isn’t she tells me I should rethink marrying my fiancé.’

And many were quick to take to the comments section, accusing the so-called friend of being bitter.

‘You’ve uncovered a new category: the Uninvitedzilla!’ wrote one, while a second penned: ‘She wants to come to the wedding, but thinks marrying him is a mistake. Plus she’s never met him, but she knows he doesn’t really want to marry you? Please!’

A third added: ‘Who invites themselves to a wedding? And why would she want to go to a wedding if she doesn’t support it?’ while a fourth commented:

‘Funny how she’s being “such a good friend” only after being told she wasn’t invited, so if you’d said she could come would she have been a bad friend in letting you make this “terrible mistake?”‘

In the awkward message exchange, the friend can be seen asking whether a wedding date has been set – before proceeding to invite herself along to the big day.

When the bride-to-be went on to explain they’re having a ‘small wedding with immediate family and close friends’ and that she wasn’t invited, the pal sarcastically responded: ‘Oh well that shows me where I stand, cheers.’

Despite trying to reason that they haven’t had much contact in the last few years, the friend admitted she was ‘really hurt’ – before advising the bride-to-be to reconsider marrying her husband altogether.

‘To be honest, I think this marriage is something that has been more forced than something that has come to you both,’ she penned.

‘He never had the natural desire to marry you and you are…so so young. I have known you for a long time, and you have been in constant prayer about this.’

‘I honestly don’t think you are making the right move and that this will bring long sustainable happiness to you both.’

And while some slammed the pal for being ‘salty’ about not being invited – others took issue with the fact she accused the bride-to-be of marrying too young.

‘She’s so salty about not being invited she doubled down and told you god doesn’t want you married. I aspire to be this delusional,’ raged one, while a second agreed:

‘I personally think that she wants to do the whole “I object” thing and try to steal your man out from under you. Catching major “you’re not good enough for him but I totally think I am” vibes.’

A third commented: ‘You and your fiancé have been together 6 years and she thinks you’re rushing into marriage? LOL Sounds like she’s more than a bit salty that you’re getting married and she isn’t,’ while a fourth wrote:

‘It p***s me off so much when people say you’re “too young” to get married. I was 22. We started dating when we were 16 and told everyone we would get married one day. No one believed us. We’re both 30 this year and loving married life. You do you!!’
