A bride-to-be stunned guests and her new husband when she asked if she could hug her ex-boyfriend for ‘one final time’ – just seconds after saying ‘I Do.’

TikTok user @mayangkumay posted a video that was taken at her wedding reception in Malaysia and showed the shocking moment she asked for the groom’s permission for the rather unusual request.

In the short clip, a man can be seen walking towards the couple and offering a congratulatory handshake, when the bride turns to her husband and asks: ‘Can I hug him one last time?’

After being given the go ahead, she then gives her ex a warm embrace before tenderly rubbing his back and exchanging a few words while her husband awkwardly watches on.

And the clip caused quite a stir online, with many taking to social media to comment on the bizarre exchange and the ‘hurt’ look on the groom’s face.

The clip, which has since garnered over 2.5 million views, has divided opinion among social media users.

Many told how the new husband ‘deserves better’ and commented on the ‘hurt’ look on his face.

‘You see her husband immediately looks down when he sees his wife hugging her ex. What would the groom’s family think?’ wrote one, while a second penned: ‘Next day she may ask you permission for more…poor guy.’

A third added: ‘Your face can’t lie bro…it’s hurt but it’s OK,’ while a fourth joked: ‘At least she’s asking for permission.’

However, others praised the groom for his handling of the situation and said he had a ‘great heart.’

‘If he allows it, it means he is not an insecure husband.’ wrote one.

The video comes just days after a bride who shared a video of her husband throwing a three-tier wedding cake in her face raised concerns online – with many warning his actions are a ‘major red flag.’

Bride Kelsey Carson, from Kingston in Tennessee, who posts under the name @Kelsboyd3, took to TikTok to share the controversial footage where she can at first be seen playfully wiping some frosting on husband Tony’s face.

However, it was the groom’s reaction that caused quite the stir online – with many branding it ‘aggressive’ and a ‘major red flag.’

In retaliation, Tony can be seen grabbing hold of the cake and throwing it into the bride’s face – with the force of it resulting in her stumbling into the nearby chairs.
