Bride tries to sell the plywood urinal her husband made for their wedding for $150 on Facebook

Wedding thrones! Groom builds a toilet block out of PLYWOOD for guests at his nuptials – before his wife tries to flog the flat-pack loo for $150 on Facebook

  • Anonymous bride, from the US, shared photos of plywood urinals at her wedding
  • Boasted about husband’s handiwork, before trying to sell them on Facebook
  • Social media users branded the flat-pack loo everything from ‘trashy’ to ‘a joke’

A bride has been mocked for trying to flog the plywood urinal her husband made for guests at their nuptials for $150 (£115) on Facebook.

The post, shared by an anonymous man, believed to be from the US, to Reddit, shows three pictures of the flimsy DIY urinal, which appears to be situated in the venue’s car park – in full view of everyone.

Unsurprisingly, many were left horrified by the invention, and branded it everything from pure ‘gold’ to ‘tacky.’

‘At first I thought this was just a joke, then I saw that THEY ARE FOR SALE. for $150! Lordy,’ wrote one, while a second simply commented: ‘That’s nasty.’

A third added: ‘It’s a great idea (to have bathrooms at a wedding), but the execution leave a lot to be desired.’

‘I mean… plywood, writing in Sharpie (not even stencilled properly) and a plastic shovel blade with a hole in it(?).’

‘Why not rent portable toilets and I don’t know… bedazzle them or something (not that it wouldn’t be wedding shaming material either).’

The cubicle design features a blue device for guests to wee into, which then travels down a pipe before it reaches a grassy area behind a fence.

The word ‘MENS’ can be seen written on the front in a black marker pen, while a sink appears to be absent.

Never-the-less, delighted with her husband’s handiwork, the bride took to Facebook and penned: ‘My hubby made these for the men to use at our wedding’ – before listing it for sale at for $150 (£115.25).

‘Classy!’ joked one, while another commented: ‘Okay. Can we talk about the fact that they are now for sale? Imagine showing up and moving those after they have been used for there intended purposes?’

A third added: ‘This is not the worst idea. Usually when men are outside and drinking a lot they’ll end up peeing outside too. At least this provides some privacy. Selling them seems kind of gross though,’ while a fourth agreed:

‘The toilet is also a great modern innovation. I’m not looking to buy a used one on Facebook.’

However, a select few couldn’t help but praise the couple’s innovative idea.

‘This is pretty creative,’ commented one. ‘I’ve been to several events (not weddings though) that needed something like this. I don’t see this as something to shame. They had a problem and came up with a reasonable solution.’

A further commented: ‘I’m torn between shuddering with disgust and wanting to applaud the ingenuity.’
