Sevilla and Fiorentina are interested in pursuing a deal for Brighton midfielder Steven Alzate.

The 24-year-old is yet to make an appearance this season and could pursue a move away from England in search of more first-team opportunities.

Alzate is a product of Brighton’s academy, rising through the ranks of their Under-23 team after joining from Leyton Orient in 2017.

He then endured a mixed loan spell in League Two at Swindon Town before being integrated into the first-team set-up at the Seagulls.

Alzate has made a total of 51 senior appearances for Brighton but has often found himself in and out of the first-team under different managers at the club.

His only outing last season came in Brighton’s Carabao cup win over Forest Green Rovers, with Alzate yet to make an appearance under De Zerbi.

He failed to feature in a single Premier League fixture last season as Brighton qualified for the Europa League.

Alzate has featured seven times for the Colombian national team after making his international debut four years ago.
