Brisbane Airport evacuated due to ‘emergency situation’ threatening public safety 

Police shoot man who threatened travellers while armed with ‘a knife and a bomb’ at Brisbane Airport as public is evacuated

Brisbane Airport is in lock has been evacuated and trains have stopped due to an emergency situation.

Police have made a declaration under the Public Safety and Preservation Act tonight at the International Airport due an ’emergency situation’.

A man is reportedly brandishing a knife and making bomb threats inside the building, 9news reported.

The Australian Federal Police are in attendance in conjunction with Queensland Police.

A man at the scene said the elderly man pulled out a knife 

A woman at the scene said there was an elderly man at the foodcourt with a small knife. 

She said it looked as though there was a family feud. 

Flights have been delayed due to the unfolding incident.

Brisbane Airport said in a tweet: ‘The Australian Federal Police is managing the incident and we hope to get back to normal operations as soon as possible’. 

There is no further information at this time.
