‘Early this morning, my beautiful, vibrant, loving sister was hit by a car whilst out jogging. She passed away on her 33rd birthday,’ her sister Bella posted on Facebook.

‘She was such a beautiful and caring soul, who lived her life to the fullest. She was my best friend and the best sister I could ever have asked for and I already miss her more then I ever thought possible.’

Old school friends also paid tribute.

‘This is such sad news! Caroline will always be remembered for her ‘dad jokes’ always laughing and making others laugh. The world has lost a beautiful soul, ‘ one woman posted.

Another added: ‘Makes you realise that everything can change in a moment. I know I hugged everyone a little tighter this morning. My heart is just breaking for her family. I will always remember her with a smile on her face and her daggy jokes.’

Ms Davis was also remembered as a talented rower with Brisbane & GPS Rowing Club.

A newcomer to the sport, she took part in this year’s state titles and state and national Masters championships and was a regular competitor at inter-club regattas.

Ms Davis was a member of the club’s management committee.

‘Undoubtedly you’ll have the angels bowing down to your sharp wit and quick puns already. The earth and rivers will not be the same without you,’ one teammate posted.

Another added:  ‘In a sport that seems to always start in the dark a brighter character you will never meet. The colourful clothing and bubbly personality will be sadly missed. My heart goes out to your family Caz, as our wonderful cox and friend you will be truly missed.’

Club chairman Ian Holzberger described Ms Davis as a ‘pretty special lady’.

‘It’s one of those things; we won’t know what we miss about her until she’s not there,’ he told The Courier Mail.

‘She’s like salt, she was in everything, she helped everywhere and she will be very sorely missed.’
