Britain’s Got Talent’s Connie Talbot stuns Simon Cowell as the now 18-year-old RETURNS

Britain’s Got Talent’s Connie Talbot stuns Simon Cowell as the now 18-year-old RETURNS for Champions series 12 years later (this time with teeth!)

Connie Talbot has returned to Britain’s Got Talent, 12 years after making the 2007 final with her angelic voice.

Now 18, the singer stunned longstanding head judge Simon Cowell when she arrived on stage to try her hand at winning BGT: The Champions.

In scenes that will air in the coming weeks, Simon comes face-to-face with the songstress, shocked to see her back.

Another stab: Connie Talbot has returned to Britain’s Got Talent, 12 years after making the 2007 final with her angelic voice

‘Connie, you have teeth!’ the music mogul jokes, referring to the toothless seven-year-old that made the final over a decade ago.

Simon then adds: ‘I will remember that first audition for the rest of my life. I don’t think we’d be sitting here now if it wasn’t for you.’

To which fellow longterm judge Amanda Holden agrees: ‘You have done yourself proud, I was so emotional.’

Connie performs her own orginal track to compete for The Champions crown, and plays the piano for the judges – which also includes Alesha Dixon and David Walliams, who weren’t part of the show back then.

Of her return, Connie has said: ‘When I look back it is like it’s a different person, I was so small and had no teeth.

‘I still can’t believe I made it to the final. It didn’t upset me that I didn’t win, I was happy to be there.

‘It is a risk to put yourself back in front of the judges, but winning Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions would be the perfect ending.’

Connie is a dab hand at Instagram and Twitter these days, with 162,000 followers on her Instagram account, on which her bio reads: ‘I like to sing and write songs lol’.

The images on her verified account vary from shots of her singing to snaps showing off her chic flare for fashion in a host of bang on-trend ensembles.

In 2016, the burgeoning songstress confessed to cringing about her ‘chipmunk voice’ at the BGT auditions years ago – despite it leading to her releasing five albums before the age of 16.

The teenager lost out to Welsh opera singer Paul Potts in the final of BGT and she therefore didn’t win the recording contract, like he did.

Since then, however, she went to Los Angeles at the age of 11 to work with Beyonce’s producer and has been working tirelessly on her music career ever since.

She later admitted that school work was more important to her, but that she had ‘no idea’ what she would do if singing didn’t work out.

‘I think I was too little to be upset about not being given a record deal. I just wanted to go on the show and meet Simon [Cowell]. I wasn’t upset by it at all,’ she said later on. ‘You would have thought Simon would be scary but he was sweet.’

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions begins on ITV at 8PM.
