Britain’s loftiest family with father and three brothers measuring a combined 27-FOOT

Meet the Marsh family – Britain’s tallest family including a father and three sons who measure nearly 27-foot in height together.

While parents Angela, 47, and husband Tim, 53., measure in at 6ft and 6ft7ins, their three sons tower over them even still.

Oscar, 21, is 6ft10ins, and middle child Samuel, 19, is 6ft9ins, but Matthew, the youngest of the Marsh clan at just 16 years old, is also the tallest, measuring a staggering 6ft11ins – and he’s still growing.

Matthew’s height has put him on the road to sporting stardom. He has already played in Spain’s top basketball division Liga ACM.

Matthew, of Truro, Cornwall, is also the first British youngster to be signed to ‘multi-sports club’ FC Barcelona.

The youngest in the family started his career with Penryn Saracens.

He has spent the last year in Reading playing for John Madejski Academy in the EABL and the Rockets in junior NBL.

Matthew said: ‘I am delighted to be going to Barcelona to continue to develop my basketball career following an enjoyable and successful year with the Rockets and JMA.

‘The support from coaches and staff has enabled me to pursue my dream career for which I am really grateful.’

Matthew’s father said that tall genes are from both sides of the family.

Mr Marsh said: ‘Our oldest Oscar is 6ft10 and our other son Samuel is 6ft9. They are also keen basketball players and Sam and Matt both go to the gym so look like real athletes.

Tallest Man Ever: Robert Wadlow at 8ft11.1ins

Tallest Woman Ever: Zeng Jinglian at 8ft1ins

Britain’s Tallest man: Paul Sturgess at 7ft7ins

‘They got their height from both me and their mother – but now even though I am 6ft7 I still look small compared to them.

‘They were always ahead of curb in terms of height from the outset but it is not surprising. They are obviously very big boys but a lot of kids are four inches taller than dad.’

He said the family were ‘incredibly proud’ of what Matthew had achieved.

The teenager is set to represent Great Britain under-16s at the European Championships.

The 16-year-old will join four other British juniors in Spain. They are Kareen Queeley, Jacob Round, Tomiwa Sulaiman and Segun Shodunke.
