A talented illusion baker has fooled Instagram followers with his latest creation: a four-tier cake that looks just like a roll of toilet paper. 

Ben Cullen, 29, who lives in Chester, received more than 25,000 likes for his latest bake after he posted on Instagram with a caption urging people to look after vulnerable members in their community.  

The choice of design was a comment on the recent shortage of toilet roll in supermarkets across the UK due to the coronavirus pandemic.

He wrote: ‘If everyone took this pandemic as seriously as we apparently take toilet roll we’ve got half a chance! Look out for yourselves, your families and anyone vulnerable you can help! #toiletpaper #cake #corona.’

Ben who has been baking since 2015 has baked caked for celebrities including Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jurgen Klopp and Megan McKenna. 

The cake has gone viral on social media, with many followers admitting they didn’t initially realise it was a cake. 

‘At first I was like… who posts a f****** tissue paper!!?? Then I swiped and omfg.. A wholesome cake.. all hail bakers magic by @the_bakeking,’ wrote one.

Another said: ‘Omg I thought that this was one of those corona virus memes again, lmao I never would have thought it was a cake!! Good job’ 

A third added: ‘The detail and work is phenomenal’

Boasting over 180,000 followers on Instagram, Ben is a former tattoo artist who taught himself to transfer the creative skills into baking.

Other responses to his latest bake joked that it had cheered them up, as many tagged their friends to see the post.

One person wrote: ‘This made me laugh so hard. Your skills are out of this world’
