A murder investigation has been launched after a British serviceman on a military drill in Sweden was found dead after a night out in Stockholm – with four people arrested.

The 25-year-old man was in Sweden on the HMS Albion ship for the Aurora 23 defence exercise, which took place between April 17 and May 11.

According to Expressen, he was on a night out with a fellow British serviceman before they ended up at a house in Solna, together with several Swedes.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence told MailOnline: ‘We are aware of an incident in Stockholm and we are assisting local authorities in their investigation. It would be inappropriate to comment further.’
