Champion racer Luke Mossey has survived a dramatic crash which saw him flung 6ft into the air at a British racing track.

He was training for the immense Oulton Park Race in Cheshire at Cadwell Park, Lincolnshire, when he lost control of his bike and launched around 20m across the course.

Shocking footage shows the moment the sportsman skidded across the track and landed on to the grass with a thump – narrowly missing his rival.

And it was revealed he miraculously only suffered a hair-line fracture, yesterday.

He confirmed that he will be taking time out for his recovering on Twitter.

Mr Mossey wrote: ‘Quick update after yesterday’s off I have a hairline fracture in the top of my leg nothing serious but with the nature of Cadwell it’s just to risky to try and ride, big thanks to the medical team and I’ll be back at oulton in a few weeks time! Ciao @OfficialBSB @OMGRacingUK’

He praised the help of the brands which helped him get back to his feet: ‘Big thanks to for saving me after the crash could have been a lot worse so thanks guys!’

He has won 11 championship including the British Minibike Championship and won his first championship title at the Bennetts British Superbike Championship for JG Speedfit Kawasaki.

The racer was lucky to land on the side of the track as he narrowly skimmed his rival

He suffered a hair-line fracture and is taking some time out, he revealed on Twitter

He was hurled 20ft across the track before making a drastic landing on the grass bank

And proved once again that he is made of sturdy stuff – returning to spectate the track less than 24 hours to the Chesire racing park.

People have been sending their wishes to the racer on social media after the hair-raising clip was revealed by Bennetts on Twitter.

‘I was stood right there at the fence and saw tho whole thing! I couldn’t believe he stood straight up and hobbled away! Made of tuff stuff’, Jamie Vincent wrote.

Jeremy said: ‘Good job you landed how you did, that was a huge smash!! Speedy recovery!’  

‘Jesus Christ Luke. Glad your alright after that, dunno how though’, Denis said.
