An 18-year-old British woman claims to have been raped in Magaluf.

The attack is alleged to have happened in the early hours of Sunday morning although the location has not been specified.

The teenager has undergone a medical examination and the Civil Guard have launched an investigation.

But the British woman says she cannot remember any details about the attack and has so far been unable to give the police a description of the man who sexually assaulted her.

After filing a complaint, the sexual assault protocol was activated.

The young British woman was transferred to Son Espases hospital in Palma where she underwent a full examination to determine if she had injuries compatible with a violation.

The complaint for the alleged sexual assault was communicated to the Court of Instruction number seven of Palma.

Local newspaper Diario de Mallorca said the girl was not able to give the police any clues as to her attacker or who to look for.

Police will be hampered by the sheer number of people who would have been in Magaluf along the party strip of bars and clubs over the weekend.
