Custom officers found 307 vape pods filled with CBD oil on her possession.

While CBD doesn’t cause the same high as Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC in cannabis, the substance is illegal in the UAE.

The woman was also found with 1.4g of cocaine and 6.3g of cannabis hashish in her luggage, The National reported.

The woman has previously denied the charges made against her.

Her lawyer Saeed Matar said his client was innocent and would appeal the sentence.

‘It was proven during questioning – through her affidavit and that of the customs officer – that the pods were visible, which indicates she did not know they were filled with CBD oil or else she would have tried to hide them more professionally,’ he said.
