Britney Spears’ ex appears in court two months after he was tackled trying to crash star’s wedding

Britney Spears’ embattled ex-husband made an appearance in court Tuesday – nearly two months after he filmed himself crashing her California wedding while armed with a knife.

Dressed in a white prison jumpsuit with a mane of messy hair, Alexander, a childhood friend of Spears’ and her first husband, appeared virtually before a judge in Ventura County for a pretrial hearing.

The proceedings saw Alexander – who has been in jail since his arrest on June 9 – read the litany of charges he is facing for the ill-thought out infiltration, which include felony stalking, refusing to leave private property, vandalism, and battery.

Having grown a mane of messy during his nearly two months of incarceration, Alexander, 40, appeared somewhat anxious and even somber at times during the proceedings, seated upright in a tense position as he appeared before the judge.

The hearing comes two months after Alexander – whose Instagram livestream of the ultimately unsuccessful attempt was cut as he was tackled and restrained by security –  pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him.

Alexander’s next court date is scheduled for August 15, for trial preparation, as he remains in jail on $100,000 bail for storming the Sherman Oaks wedding – where his ex wed her 28-year-old boyfriend Sam Asghari.

Spears, 40, and Alexander – who lives in Spears’ native Tennessee –  married in 2004 in Las Vegas, but the marriage was annulled after only 55 hours.

He faces up to five years in prison if convicted.

The attack allegedly saw Alexander – who grew up with Spears in Louisiana – enter Spears’ mansion with a knife and attempt to gain entry to her bed.

In footage he posted to Instagram, Alexander could be seen inside the megastar’s manse, with the Tennessee native even taking video of a backyard tent where the nuptials were to be held.

The livestream also showed a confrontation between Alexander and event security where he falsely claimed he’d been invited to the celebration.

Cops said he gained entry the fairytale ceremony – whose star-studded guest list included names like Paris Hilton, Selena Gomez, Madonna, and Drew Barrymore – by scaling a fence into the exclusive gated community where Spears’ home is situated.

He then climbed down a rocky slope to get on to the blonde singer’s 20-acre property.

Running toward Spears’ 12,464-square-foot Italian-style villa while capturing it on his cellphone camera, he screamed: ‘I’m Jason Alexander. The first husband. I’m here to crash the wedding.’

He would then enter the wedding tent where the nuptials were soon to be held, shouting: ‘She’s my first wife, she’s my only wife.’

After fighting with Britney’s security guards, he was wrestled to the ground and later arrested – an altercation a guest was able to capture on his own cellphone camera.

After the attack, Spears was granted a restraining order against her former beau, after she and Asghari told cops that Alexander was carrying a knife when he was arrested.

One of Britney’s security team also said Alexander entered had tried ‘multiple times’ to open the singer’s locked bedroom door on the second floor of the mansion, with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department later confiscating a box cutter and other items from Jason.

One of the security guards involved in the incident was also granted a restraining order against Alexander.

Following his arrest, a judge ordered that he would not be allowed ‘to contact, annoy, harass,’ Spears and her new husband, a personal trainer from Iran, and not to come within 100 yards of them for the next three years.

Alexander also faces a special enhancement accusation which he denied earlier this month as he pleaded not guilty for the other offenses, as he was on probation for an unrelated case out of Tennessee at the time of his alleged crimes in California.

He denied the special charge allegation during that arraignment.

If he does post bail, Alexander would not be allowed to buy or possess any firearms or other dangerous weapons and any he already has would have to be turned in.

Alexander also has an outstanding 2016 arrest warrant in Napa County, Northern California, accusing him of stealing a $2,000 sapphire and diamond tennis bracelet from a woman who was renting him a room, and later pawning it for $180.

He will next appear in court on August 15, where at which point jurists will compile evidence against Alexander in preparation for his trial.
