Britney Spears’ former assistant slams singer’s ex-husband Kevin Federline for TV interview

Britney Spears’ former friend and assistant has slammed her ex-husband Kevin Federline for saying her 13-year-long conservatorship was ‘necessary’, insisting the singer is ‘nothing but a great mother’.

Kevin, 44, spoke to 60 Minutes Australia where he spoke on a wide range of topics regarding pop-star ex wife Britney, including her controversial conservatorship which ended last year.

He said that he believes the move which left Britney, 40, without control over her life, career or finances and instead in the hands of her father Jamie Spears, 70, was a ‘necessary’ move.

But now former friend and assistant of Spears, Sean Philip, has slammed Britney’s dancer ex for his comments and said she was ‘nothing but a great mother’.

Speaking out: Britney Spears’ former friend and assistant Sean Philip has slammed her ex-husband Kevin Federline for insisting her 13-year-long conservatorship was ‘necessary’

He said: ‘I witnessed nothing but her as a great mother to her sons, very hands on.

‘When Sean Preston was born in 2006, I was taking care of him with her, and we would go to the zoo, playground – I have never seen her be nothing less than amazing with her kids.

‘She’s very hands-on. All I can say is she’s a good mother.’

Also speaking publicly on Britney’s public appearance last week was her youngest son Jayden who claimed the pop superstar’s sexually charged social media posts are ‘something to get attention’ and voiced his concern that it ‘may never stop’.

Britney regularly posts photos and videos of herself posing naked and addressing fans with lengthy paragraphs, often discussing intimate details of her private life and issues during and since her conservatorship.

The 15-year-old spoke candidly in a pre-recorded segment for Friday’s ITV News with the permission of his dad Kevin Federline who was married to the singer between between 2004 and 2007.

Elsewhere, he claimed his tarnished relationship with the chart-topper can be fixed, however it’s going to take ‘a lot of time’.

Jayden – who lives with his brother Sean Preston, 16, at Kevin’s Los Angeles home – revealed he does want to see Britney again, despite their differences.

Britney’s ex-assistant Sean Philip said: ‘The kids have a right to their feelings, but I don’t agree with Kevin putting them on 60 minutes Australia – if there is any concern about her – doing something with Kevin now is not going to help.

On Britney’s musical comeback Sean added: ‘This woman is more professional than anyone knows, her ability to perform is insane.

‘She is going to come back with a bang. I think everything will come together eventually.’

Last month, the Mail on Sunday revealed Britney hadn’t seen her sons for months.

Their father, former dancer Kevin, said the boys’ desire to avoid the circus surrounding their mother’s private life was so great they didn’t even attend her June wedding to American-Iranian model Sam Asghari.

Federline and Spears only dated for three months in 2004 before they got engaged in July of that year, and they were married by September.

Britney gave birth to Sean in September of 2005, and Jayden followed around a year later in 2006, but the pop star filed for divorce in November 2006, with it being finalised the following year.

Speaking to 60 Minutes Australia, Kevin continued: ‘I wasn’t involved in any of it how the conservatorship came about. I don’t know.

‘They were worried about their daughter and trying to do whatever they can to help her. That’s all that I knew,’ he admitted.

The former performer says the couple’s sons Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15, were ‘happy’ for their mother when her conservatorship ended.

‘Both of them were so happy for her, you know? Because it’s not always about what’s right. It’s about this is what mum wanted, you know, mum got,’ he said.

Kevin insisted that it’s important for his sons to have a close relationship with their grandparents, Britney’s father Jamie and mother, Lynne, 67, as well as her uncle.

‘They’re my kids’ immediate family, you know. That’s their grandfather and their grandmother and their uncle,’ he said.

‘I feel that it’s very important that they have relationships with all of them, regardless of what happens.’

Jayden also explained why he and his brother Sean did not attend their mother’s wedding to longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari, 28, in June.

‘I’m really happy for them. But, like, I mean… She didn’t invite the whole family, and then if it was going to be me and Preston, like, I don’t see how that situation would have ended on good terms,’ he said.

Federline previously revealed that his sons had skipped her wedding to Asghari and hadn’t seen her in months partly due to semi-nude photos she posted to Instagram since the end of her conservatorship.

Sean and Jayden have apparently become disengaged from their mother recently.
