Britney Spears thanks fans for support in Instagram post along with video listing favorite things

She waxed lyrical about the meaning of life as she shared some photos to her Instagram on Thursday.

And on the day after a court hearing left her conservatorship unchanged, Britney Spears went on to express her thanks for fans for their support.

While she made no direct mention of the ongoing legal drama, fans were left puzzled by her decision to share a video in which she listed some of her favorite things, and claiming that’s what commenters were asking her about.

Spoke out: Britney Spears thanked her fans for their support in an Instagram post on Thursday, the day after a LA court left her conservatorship unchanged – but added a video that left fans scratching their heads

In the caption alongside the video, Britney continued on her theme from earlier in the day, about how quarantine during the pandemic is proving a learning experience.

She wrote: ‘feel like we will look back at this time in quarantine as a huge transitional stage in our lives ….. we don’t know when things will go back to normal but we are staying positive and learning so much about ourselves !!!!’

She then expressed her gratitude to her many supporters.

‘For me I want to thank all my dear … sweet … real fans for being so damn wonderful !!!,’ the pop star shared. ‘I can feel your hearts and I know you can feel mine … thank you for your support !!!’

'So I'm here today to answer all your questions in your comments,' she began. 'And the first question you guys ask me is what's my favorite holiday'

'My favorite holiday is probably Halloween just because I like getting dressed up. I love the candy and I love scaring people,' she said

In the pre-recorded video, Britney, 38, wore a puffy sleeved patterned crop top along with a couple of choker necklaces.

Her blonde hair appeared a little windswept and her eyes were ringed with her usual dark shadow and black liner.

But her fans were quick to comment on the clip and how it struck a somewhat bizarre chord.

‘Girl, no one is asking that,’ one fan posted.

‘These are definitely not the questions people are asking,’ another wrote.

One commenter suggested the questions were from way back in 1999, while others asked the star: ‘are u ok?’

Britney suffered a setback when no action was taken in her legal case to have her father Jamie removed as her conservator at a court hearing in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

BUt she had started her day Thursday, in a philosophical mood as she posted to her Instagram.

Alongside a close-up photo of her hand holding a tiny daisy, the pop princess spoke about finding comfort in ‘old traditions’ and ‘spending more time meditating and praying’.

She began her post with: ‘It’s the little things … and I have no idea what I was thinking when I got a freaking black ink triangle on my right hand !!!!’

Britney, 38, went on: ‘During this time of quarantine I really feel like making homemade bread  … hanging my clothes outside to dry …. not being on my phone so much … spending more time meditating and praying …. and really finding my inner grace !!!’

‘Going back to the old traditions and understanding life has way more meaning …. also living for the beautiful surprises life is guaranteed to give !!!! GOD BLESS YOU ALL !!!!’

She made no mention of Wednesday’s court hearing.

A couple of hours later, she shared another two photos to Instagram, which appear to be old pics she’s previously shared in which she’s wearing a blue and white patterned peasant’s blouse and light makeup.

This time, her fans and #FreeBritney supporters commented about how they’d seen the pictures before and why wasn’t she posting new ones, and expressing concern for her welfare.

It feeds into the conspiracy theory that the hitmaker is being held ‘hostage’ by her caretakers and that her posts are being faked to try and persuade people that she is okay.

This has led to online petitions, social media posts and protests calling for her to be ‘freed’.

Her dad Jamie described the campaign as ‘a joke’ in an interview with PageSix.com earlier this month and said the conspiracy theorists ‘don’t have a clue’.

On Wednesday, Britney’s childhood friend Jason Alexander, whom she wed in Las Vegas in January 2004 only for the marriage to be annulled 55 hours later, claimed to have insight into her life.

Jason joined fans for a #FreeBritney rally outside the downtown LA courthouse where her hearing about her conservatorship was being held.

He said he had been in contact with Britney via text message Tuesday night and said she wants the conservatorship to end.

‘She does get to do things, you know go to a vacation for a week, but it’s all supervised. It’s not like she can just go do what she wants,’ Jason said.

‘She’s ready for this to be over with, it’s holding her back,’ he added. ‘It’s really sad because it’s affecting her relationship with her kids and people like me and her friends that she’d like to hang out with but she can’t.’

Britney was made the subject of a conservatorship in 2008 following her high profile breakdown and mental health crisis.

The legal move gave her father control over her estate and finances as well as giving him the authority to make decisions on her behalf regarding her welfare.

In her legal battle, Britney is asking a judge to allow her temporary care manager Jodi Montgomery, who took over last year when her dad became ill, to continue permanently in that role.

Court documents filed by her attorney stated that she ‘strongly opposes’ her dad Jamie continuing as sole conservator.

However, Wednesday’s hearing adjourned without any changes being made, according to TMZ.

The outlet reported that the hearing was simply a status conference and nothing can proceed through the legal system until certain documents are filed with the court.

According to TMZ, there’s a conservatorship in place because it’s been deemed that Britney is incapable of making life decisions for herself due to mental illness. And that will remain the case until and if a declaration to the contrary is accepted by the court.
