Bronx boy attacked and stabbed in parkway beating captured on video

The NYPD has released footage showing a large pack of young men believed to be gang members beating and stabbing a 14-year-old in The Bronx – two days before another local teenager was slashed to death in the borough.

The attack took place at 5.30pm on June 18 in the median of the Bronx River Parkway, not far from the East Gun Hill Road exit.

Police officers responded to the scene to find the 14-year-old victim lying unconscious and unresponsive, and suffering from multiple stab wounds all over his body.

The victim, who has not been named by his family out of a concern for his safety, was taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where he is still listed in critical condition.

The video of the attack on the teenager shows a gaggle of suspects, some of them shirtless and shoeless, pummelling the victim in full view of passing motorists.

So far, police have arrested one suspect in the brutal attack, identified as 21-year-old Ramon Paulino, of The Bronx.

Paulino has been charged with federal counts of attempted murder, assault and gang assault. Police say other suspects remain at large.

Investigators believe it was the same gang who were responsible for brutally murdering 15-year-old Lesandro Guzman-Feliz two days later.

That incident took place shortly before midnight on June 20 on East 183rd Street in the Bronx and was also captured on video.

In footage that has caused outrage across the country a group of young men are seen dragging Guzman-Feliz out of a bodega and slashing him in the neck with a machete.

The high school student tried to run for help, but collapsed a block away and bled to death on the sidewalk.

So far, seven men believed to be members of Trinitarios have been arrested in connection to the shocking killing, which has sparked widespread protests.

Police believe his killing was a case of mistaken identity over a sex tape that portrayed a 15-year-old girl believed to be related to members of the Trinitarios.

Kisha Hoke, the mother of the boy in Monday’s attack on Bronx River Parkway told New York Daily News her son’s stabbing and the killing of Guzman-Feliz were not directly related, but carried out by the same Dominican clan.

‘I’m with [Guzman-Feliz’s mother], because I almost was gonna be like her, two days before,’ Hoke told the paper.

She revealed that her son sustained a dozen stab wounds and ended up losing a kidney. He has just started eating solids foods again and still suffers flashbacks from the attack.

‘He told me, “Mami, I still close my eyes, and I still feel all the stabs in my body, coming and going out,”‘ said Hoke.

According to Hoke, the 14-year-old became a target of the Trinitarios after breaking up with his girlfriend, who has ties to the gang, last year.

Court papers indicate that the victim has declared on Facebook that he was a member of a rival street gang called the Grizzlies, which is affiliated with the Bloods.

The family have been living in New York City’s shelter system since April, and the mother claims that the NYPD, the Department of Homeless Services and the Department of Education were all aware of the threats against her son, but failed to act in a timely fashion and help her relocate to Brooklyn.

Hoke said members of the Trinitarios had made two previous attempts to harm the 14-year-old, which failed.

On June 18, some 15 alleged gang members discovered him smoking a hookah with his friends in Bronx River Park, chased him through the woods and ultimately cornered him on the median of Bronx River Parkway, where they stabbed him a dozen times.

Off-duty EMT worker Rowan Thomas was driving on the road when she witnessed the attack and came to the boy’s aid by chasing off some of the assailants and administering first aid until paramedics arrived.

Suspect Ramon Paulino was arrested on Friday in connection to the stabbing and was ordered held on $100,000 bond.

Paulino initially denied any involvement in the stabbing, but changed his story after being shown surveillance video that captured him swinging a log.

According to court documents, the 21-year-old suspect admitted to being a member of the Trinitarios gang.

Meanwhile, the 14-year-old victim’s mother has quit her job at a clothing store to care for her son and launched a GoFundMe campaign, asking for donations to help cover the boy’s medical bills and pay for food and housing. As of Tuesday morning, just $456 has been raised of the woman’s $20,000 goal.
