Brooklyn Beckham spotted texting while riding his bike

His father was criticised by fans last week after appearing to film himself riding a motorbike down a US highway.

But now Brooklyn Beckham has raised eyebrows after being spotted texting while cycling down the streets in New York City.

The 18-year-old, who has been living in NYC to study photography, was spotted checking his phone as he rode through the New York avenues on Friday morning.

Brooklyn kept a low profile as he rode through the city, checking his phone as he want along, though he did not stop.

The son of David and Victoria Beckham donned a simple jeans and white t-shirt combo, covered up with a red and yellow Letterman jacket and a flat cap.

Brooklyn was seen following in his father’s footsteps, after David was criticised by fans for filming himself while riding a motorbike down a US highway.

The 42-year-old father-of-four, who is known for his love of motorbikes and often takes himself off on epic road trips, seemed to momentarily forget the ‘no phones while driving’ rule as he uploaded several Instagram stories to his account.

In the clips, which he seemed to film himself, David was seen on a boys’ road trip with a companion named ‘Thor’, on high-speed dirt bikes. Some of the clips appeared to be snapped while he was hurtling along on the motorcycle, full-throttle.

The retired footballer seemed to hold his phone up above his head to capture himself and another man on a similar bike as they sped down the road.

Both were wearing helmets, but David seemed to take his eyes off the road for a long enough time to check he was capturing the event, focusing on both him and his pal.

David was seen grinning as he turned his head to get the attention of his companion, who smiled back at the camera.

As David flipped the camera around again, various cars were seen zooming past him, making the situation all the more perilous.

In another clip, he appears to film from behind the handlebars of the vehicle, lowering the camera so as to capture his buddy slightly ahead of him, the road ahead and the entrance to a mountain tunnel.

MailOnline has contacted a rep for David for comment.

The former England captain – who is in the States with the rest of the Beckham clan which includes wife Victoria, 43, sons Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 15, Cruz, 12 and daughter Harper, six – was clearly enjoying his time with the boys, snapping various images for Instagram to document the afternoon on the road.

Stopping at a rustic eatery, David enjoyed ‘the best clams in the world’ and an espresso, before hitting the road again with his friends.

David uploaded a shot of Thor, captioning it ‘Thor killing it on his custom Indian’. In another, the group were pulled up alongside one another, as if stopped waiting for a red light to change.

David is a fan of life on the open road – in the summer he spent time with a friend on a motorbiking camping excursion, again in the states, documenting a tranquil trip which featured dips in the lakes and sleeping under the stars.

He caught the attention of fans then too, as he uploaded some similar selfies while out on the roads.

Fans were quick to add comments to his posts to the tune of ‘Becks, watch the road please!’ Earlier this week, David was seen in an altogether different mode of transport while driving around LA.

He grabbed a juice to go and cruised around the streets of Beverly Hills in a £160,000 Bentley Bentayga.

Also this week, he enjoyed a date night with Victoria, where the couple drank £2k worth of red wine.
