Kareem Hunt has re-signed for Cleveland Browns on a one-year, $4million contract following the gruesome knee injury which ended Nick Chubb’s season on Monday.

Hunt, 28, was released by the Browns at the end of last season, bringing an end to his four-year stint with the franchise.

Yet in the wake of Chubb’s serious knee injury, which he suffered during Monday night’s loss to the Steelers, Cleveland has offered the running back an unexpected lifeline by re-signing him as a replacement.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Hunt had been exploring moves to New Orleans and Indianapolis before a shock return to Cleveland came to fruition.
