Bruce Guthro dies at age 62: The Canadian singer was the lead vocalist of the Scottish rock band Runrig for 20 years

Bruce Guthro has died at the age of 62.

The singer hailed from Canada but was best known as the lead singer for the Scottish band Runrig.

His death was announced by former bandmate Pete Wishart.

‘He was just the nicest person you could ever hope to meet and a joy to perform with. An exceptional singer, musician and song writer taken far too soon. We are going to miss him,’ he said.

Guthro joined the Scottish rock band in 1998.

And he was with the popular band until it stopped performing in 2018.
