It comes shortly after Bruno Mars’ side project with Anderson .Paak, Silk Sonic, withdrew their album from Grammy Awards consideration – one year after scooping up an impressive four awards at the 2022 ceremony.

Bruno, who formed the musical superduo with Anderson, 37, in 2021, told Rolling Stone the pair’s only album, An Evening With Silk Sonic, would not be submitted for a nomination at the 2023 awards.

The musical artist said that they made the decision not to put the album forward for this year’s ceremony, because they felt as though they would ‘be crazy to ask for anything more’ than they had already received at the 2022 Grammys – where they won four awards for the album’s lead track, Leave the Door Open.

Bruno insisted the duo feels as though they ‘won the moment the world responded to Leave the Door Open’, adding that ‘everything else was just icing on the cake’.

‘We truly put our all on this record, but Silk Sonic would like to gracefully, humbly and most importantly, sexually, bow out of submitting our album this year,’ he said.

‘We hope we can celebrate with everyone on a great year of music and partake in the party. Thank you for letting Silk Sonic thrive.’
