Bruno Tonioli drew the ire of some viewers of The One Show for appearing to speak over his fellow guest Priyanka Chopra Jonas on Thursday’s edition of the program.

However, during the portion of the show that focused on Priyanka and her projects the former Strictly Come Dancing judge continued to chime in and speak, seeming to talk over the actress, 40, in the process.
This angered some viewers and led to a number of them taking to social media to criticise Bruno for his apparent interruptions and seeming to talk over Priyanka.
Some people watching the show branded Bruno ‘annoying’ and even said they wished he would ‘shut up’ when Priyanka was speaking.

Interruptions However, during the portion of the show that focused on Priyanka, Bruno continued to chime in and speak, seeming to speak over the actress in the process
One viewer complained: ‘Bruno really needs to be quiet, you’ve had your moment let the woman have her turn’
While another person tweeted ‘Good god, Bruno is so annoying!!!!’, as one viewer blasted: ‘Enough now Bruno, you’ve had your turn STFU’
A viewer suggested that The One Show’s format could have been changed to give Priyanka more time to speak, saying: ‘Much as I like Bruno I wish he’d be quiet. This is Priyankas interview which is short enough. Could’ve cut out the boring swimming pool bit and given her longer.’
One person wrote: ‘Bruno acting like an excitable child [unimpressed emoji] @priyankachopra looks so good. I can’t wait to watch her new [series]’
Another hit out at Bruno for talking when Priyanka’s segment was underway: ‘Bruno doesn’t understand how being a guest on a show. Your bit, you speak, other guest’s bit, you don’t’
During his appearance on The One Show, Bruno discussed what it was like to be a judge on BGT. He is replacing David Walliams on the ITV reality show, who left after he made ‘disrespectful’ comments about contestants from previous series.
He is joining Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon on the judges panel.
Bruno admitted that he created havoc on the set because he did not realise that the Golden Buzzer, which automatically sends auditionees through to the live finals when pressed, could only be used once
Upset: Some people watching the show branded Bruno ‘annoying’ on social media and even said they wish he would ‘shut up’ when Priyanka was speaking
He said: ‘The crazy thing is, I had no idea I was up for the job. I had no idea. I’d never watched it! How do I research? I got the job then I was on screen the next week.
‘I said, “Well, what are the rules, Simon?”, he said, “There’s no rules, darling, you just do your thing”. Obviously, I did my thing… and you know what I love the golden buzzer.
‘Nobody told me that you are supposed to do it only once! I didn’t know! I kept asking him (Simon) and he’s the boss!’
On Tuesday, Bruno revealed he messed up straight away after pressing his golden buzzer too early on the first day.
He said: ‘I told Simon, I never watched the show before. But I never watch anything I’m in, I never even watched Strictly or Dancing With the Stars.
‘I want to feel free to give it my own personal spin, not copy what someone before me has done, if that makes sense.
New judge: Bruno s replacing David Walliams on the ITV reality show, who left after he made ‘disrespectful’ comments about contestants from previous series
‘Alesha gave me a brief, but then I forgot everything she told me! I think that was obvious when I pressed my golden buzzer at the wrong time on the first day!
‘They were like, “here are the rules, you press it then, not then”, but that went out the window, I honestly got caught up in the moment, forgot everything I’d been told and just reacted instinctively.’
Bruno starred on Strictly Come Dancing from 2004 until 2019, Anton Du Beke stepped in for him as a judge during the COVID-19 pandemic before replacing him permanently in 2022.
Britain’s Got Talent returns on Saturday, April 15 at 8pm, and on Sunday April 16 at 7:45pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
