BTS singer Jungkook tests positive for COVID-19 after arriving in the US… jeopardizing Grammys appearance and planned Las Vegas shows
BTS star Jungkook has tested positive for COVID-19.
The 24-year-old singer was diagnosed with the virus shortly after the South Korean boyband touched down in the US ahead of the Sunday’s 64th Grammy awards in Las Vegas.
The Big Hit Music agency, which manages the group, released a statement explaining the news. ‘Jungkook has been currently under self-quarantine and treatment, following the guidelines of health authorities in the United States.’

‘He is not exhibiting any symptoms other than a mild sore throat, and we will attentively monitor his health during the quarantine.’
The Permission to Dance hitmakers are scheduled to perform at the music awards show April 3 and have a series of performances scheduled in Las Vegas April 8, 9, 15 and 16.
It’s unknown how the the singer’s diagnosis will affect those plans.

Meanwhile, fellow BTS star Jin is recovering from surgery to repair an injured finger.
The 29-year-old singer, who also tested positive for COVID-19 in December, went to a hospital emergency room Friday, March 18 after injuring his index finger during what his managers referred to as his ‘daily activities.”

Managers for the South Korean boyband have apologized for any concerns and assured fans they would take ‘all necessary measures for our artists’ health prior to and throughout the schedule in the United States.’
