AFL glamour couple Buddy and Jesinta Franklin have confirmed they are having a baby.

The 28-year-old surprised fans when she took to her app on Tuesday to reveal she and her husband of three years were expecting their first child.

‘The journey to get here hasn’t been easy and this little life is the greatest gift and we feel truly blessed and grateful that we will have a little angel of our own,’ the post read.

‘We have both dreamt of this for a long time and whilst the last 2.5 years have been physically and emotionally challenging, there’s nothing we would change as it’s brought us to this beautiful moment.

‘The immense love we already have for our baby is indescribable and we can’t wait to meet our little miracle.’

The announcement was accompanied by a black and white photo of the model wearing a sheer gown and gently cradling her already large bump.

It’s unclear how many weeks along the WAG is, however in June she revealed she was keen to start a family.

Speaking to  Australian Women’s Health, Jesinta admitted she has babies on the brain, revealing: ‘(I’d) really love to start a family.’

In February 2019, Jesinta told The Morning Show that she and Buddy had decided to ‘let the universe decide’ when they would become plans, and preferred not to plan.

‘We’re just leaving it up to the universe and whatever happens, happens,’ she said at the time.

She continued: 'We have both dreamt of this for a long time and whilst the last 2.5 years have been physically and emotionally challenging, there's nothing we would change as it's brought us to this beautiful moment'

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph the same week, Jesinta also said: ‘There’s a lot in our life that has to be so planned so I think the big moments in life happen when they’re meant to happen.’

In March 2018, the model said Buddy would be a ‘beautiful father’ when the time came to be parents.

The couple, who married in 2016, faced challenges in their marriage as Buddy, 32, struggled with depression and epilepsy.

Opening up to The Daily Telegraph ahead of their wedding, Jesinta said at the time: ‘People don’t realise what Bud has been going through; he’s been going through it for a long time.

‘So, for a long time, I’ve had to have this inner strength to draw upon, which people have only seen in the past 12 months. I’ve had to use that to get me through from day to day.’

The former Miss Universe Australia reaffirmed the love that she has for the AFL star and how she has dealt with the situation.

‘I’m fiercely protective of him and anyone that’s close to me. Of course, I hold him accountable when he does things wrong, just like anyone else, but I also love, protect and care for him,’ she confessed.
