This is the terrifying moment a raging bull flung a man into the air and gored him in the back leaving him covered in blood.
The Peruvian bullfighter was bucked by the animal during a festival in Antonia Raimondi in the country’s north western department of Ancash.
Nail-biting footage from Sunday shows the fighter being hurled into the air several times, coming back down to earth with a thud.

Presumably unconscious from the impact of the fall, he is none the wiser when the beast comes speeding towards him and stabs him in the back with its horn.
The matador’s fellow bullfighters are seen rushing into the arena, near the Andes mountain range, eventually managing to drag him away.
Blood can be seen pouring from his spine where the animal stabbed him several times.
The commentator says: ‘This man took part in a bullfight, but it didn’t end as he might have hoped.’
As he was being thrown around by the beast, other bullfighters and festival staff (pictured right) tried to distract the bull away from the helpless fighter

To add to the horror, the bull was then reportedly able to escape the bullring, terrifying spectators who eventually managed to catch it and carry on with the show.
The festival was the 53rd edition of the Antonia Raimoni bullfighting festival.
The injured bullfighter’s condition is currently unknown.
Statistics on bullfighting are hard to come by but one study suggests 534 professionals have died in the past three centuries of the sport.
