Warehouse giant Bunnings is among the companies affected by the global Microsoft meltdown.

Woolworths, Qantas, the big banks and major media companies were all struck by computer crashes about 3pm on Friday.

The catastrophic tech glitch was caused by an update by antivirus company Crowdstrike to Microsoft machines.

Point of sale machines at Bunnings were affected, shoppers said.

‘Computer / cash register issues at local Bunnings and Woollies,’ one shopper said.

‘Oh, that explains what happened when I was in Bunnings,’ another said.

Daily Mail Australia approached Bunnings for comment.
