Bunting everywhere! MailOnline readers share brilliant pictures of VE Day lockdown celebrations

MailOnline readers have shared fantastic pictures of their VE Day celebrations during lockdown, with some making delicious afternoon teas and others celebrating with their neighbours on their driveways.

People got dressed up in headscarfs and other 1940s style dress to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day in style this bank holiday Friday.

Some people even got their pets involved in the fancy dress, as dogs and cats wore Union Jack themed neckerchiefs and bowties for the occasion.

Colourful Union Jack bunting hung on houses across the nation as people flocked to their driveways to have street parties with their neighbours amid lockdown.

Families baked for the occasion and kept their spirits high by enjoying tea, Victoria sponge cakes and scones with cream and jam with their loved ones.

Brilliant photographs show how families all over the country commemorated VE Day this year and enjoyed the scorching 26C (78F) heat this bank holiday.
