Managers of a Burger King in New Mexico say they have fired five employees over an incident in which a pig was drawn on a police officer’s order.

Officer Timo Rosenthal of the Clovis Police Department was in uniform when he entered the fast food restaurant to have dinner on Thursday.

Rosenthal ordered a hamburger, though he noticed that the wrapper was scrawled with a drawing depicting a pig.

‘Pig’ is a derogatory term used to refer to police officers.

‘Well, while on lunch break (and in uniform) I ordered food at Burger King and received this,’ Rosenthal wrote on his Facebook account. ‘The patties were burnt and the burger was of very poor quality.'

Rosenthal (pictured above) has said he has no plans to return to the Burger King location

The officer also noticed that the burger patties were burned and that the order was poorly prepared, according to KRQE-TV.

Rosenthal posted a photo of the drawing on the wrapper to his Facebook page, where it went viral.

‘Well, while on lunch break (and in uniform) I ordered food at Burger King and received this,’ Rosenthal wrote on his Facebook account.

‘The patties were burnt and the burger was of very poor quality.

‘Guess that was the last time I ate at Burger King in Clovis, NM.’

Rosenthal’s post generated more than 2,800 comments and 1,200 shares. There were also 1,600 reactions. 

In response to the backlash, Burger King said the franchise operators investigated the matter and fired the five employees responsible for the incident.

Nonetheless, Rosenthal has stated that he does not plan to return to the Burger King location.
