Officers were searching a home in Burpengary East on Saturday afternoon when they were confronted by the man, causing them to open fire.

‘Upon attending this address, police have encountered a 29-year-old man,’ Detective Superintendent Ben Fadian told ABC.

‘This man has confronted police, as a result police discharged their firearms.

‘I can also advise there is no threat to public safety as a result to this incident and there is no other person being sought from this matter.

No police were injured in the incident and all officers have been offered support.
