Several people have been injured after multiple bus crashes in Sydney’s CBD.

A bus mounted a footpath and slammed into a commuter at the corner of Pitt Street and Goulburn Street just after 5pm on Tuesday.

New South Wales Ambulance confirmed a 65-year-old was left with minor injuries, but had a ‘lucky escape’ after the bus left the road.

He was treated at the scene and transported to St Vincent’s Hospital in a stable condition.  

Another bus ran into a bus stop at the corner of Elizabeth Street and Park street at about 4.45pm, injuring three people in a separate incident. 

The three people aged in their 30s – two men and one woman – were treated for cuts sustained from the shattered glass of the bus stop.

Both accidents caused commuter chaos and heavy traffic around the peak travel time for Sydney’s office workers.

A spokesperson for the Transport Management Centre confirmed all lanes have since reopened for the accident on Park and Elizabeth street.

Repairs are already being made to the damaged bus stop and commuters will be able to catch buses from the Hyde Park bus stop as usual.
