The bus then indicates to merge into the middle lane, but almost ends up hitting Mr Tang.

The bus driver beeps and then opens his door before the pair start arguing.

‘You know you just merged into me, without looking, without actually paying any attention to a cyclist?’ Mr Tang says.

‘You cannot take up the whole lane,’ the driver replies.

Then Mr Tang says: ‘I’ll report you to the police, do you want to go there?’

A police spokesperson told Stuff the bus driver did not change lanes safely.

‘The cyclist has every right to use the lane on the road and unsafe or intimidating behaviour by larger vehicles against vulnerable road users should not be tolerated,’ the spokesperson said.
