This is the disturbing moment a public bus tries to mow down a pedestrian who appears to be taunting the driver.
The single-decker vehicle was filmed accelerating down a street in Rome towards the man before smacking into him and knocking him backwards.
The pedestrian is seen lingering in the middle of the road deliberately blocking the bus from coming past, but it is unclear if any prior provocations had caused the driver’s aggressive reaction.

The bus company, Atac, which operates the public transport system in the Italian capital, is poised to fire the driver once identified, according to Sky TG24.

After being alerted to the video which was circulated on Facebook, Atac released a statement.
It said (translated): ‘Pending the conclusion of the assessments, Atac will proceed to suspend the responsible driver once it has been identified.
‘The company will also assess a complaint against the employee.’
