Cabramatta: Six-year-old boy is fighting for life after falling several floors at Sydney unit block

A young child is fighting for life after falling 20 metres onto concrete from the upper levels of a unit block.

The boy, six, suffered head injuries after falling from a balcony of a residential building on John Street at Cabramatta on Wednesday in Sydney’s west.

Emergency services were called to the property at 3.45pm over concerns for the boy’s welfare.

Fairfield police arrived to find the child had landed on the concrete several stories below the balcony. 

Three ambulances attended and paramedics treated the badly injured boy at the scene.

He was rushed to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a critical condition with a police escort.

Police taped off parts of the apartment building and several officers questioned residents of the complex.

Their inquiries are continuing.
