  • Caramilk sent shoppers into a frenzy last year during its limited-time release

Cadbury could be bringing back their popular ‘Caramilk’ chocolate bar after the limited-release sold out in just a few weeks the last time it hit the shelves.

Facebook page ‘The Grocery Geek’ shared a tip off that the popular Cadbury chocolate treat Caramilk is due for relaunch later this month.

‘It is strongly rumoured that Cadbury is re-releasing its very popular Caramilk later this month,’ the Facebook post said.

Comedian Christian Hull launched a petition begging the company to make it a staple of their product line and it received 11,000 signatures in a single day

The post has been inundated with support from chocolate lovers, with many commenting ‘I hope so’.

One person wrote: ‘Definitely true I ordered a fair bit of stock for my shop today. Will be on special for $2.40 a block early September at all IGA’s’.

‘Omg I love this! Only got one block last time,’ another person said.

Shoppers went into a frenzy over the chocolate in February last year, with the blocks selling out within weeks.

Savvy customers tried to stock up on the sought-after confectionery, with some supermarkets forced to limit shoppers to two blocks each.

Last year Christian Hull launched a Change.org petition to ‘make Caramilk chocolate a permanent thing’.

The petition description said: ‘Cadbury brought out the most delicious chocolate of all time CARAMILK. It has been so successful and yet Cadbury will stop producing it. HOW DARE THEY!’

The petition was supported by more than 18,000 people until it was closed.

Some shoppers tried to make some money from the limited edition chocolate blocks, with more than 120 listings of Cadbury Caramilks hitting eBay after the product was discontinued.

The chocolate bars were made in Dunedin, New Zealand, and first went on sale two decades ago making them a nostalgic favourite for people to enjoy.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Cadbury for comment.
