‘I don’t have any hard feelings towards her. I wish it was closer, but it’s not,’ she added.

Asked if Kris has ‘some misgivings’ about her, Caitlyn replied: ‘I think that is an understatement.

‘Our relationship is okay, but I think it could be better, just because of the kids. It’s always about how the mother and father get along together, is it easy, is it good, when they see each other, is there any tension? This is reality.’

Caitlyn came out as a trans woman in April 2015 while appearing on Diane Sawyer, and underwent sex affirmation surgery in January 2017.

Later in the episode, Caitlyn discussed her Olympic triumph – she took home gold in the decathlon at the 1976 Montreal Olympics, and was invited to discuss the iconic photo taken of that moment.

But the memories of that time are bittersweet, and Caitlyn, who was then known as Bruce Jenner, says she was unhappy as a man and felt she was playing a character.

'This photo means a lot to me... right at that moment I won the title of the greatest athlete in the world. A few days later I saw this photo was on the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine, and the caption was 'Alright'. And eventually, that was exactly how I felt,' she said

Breaking down in tears, she told her housemates: ‘This photo means a lot to me. This is the photo at the finish line at the last step of 12 years of my career. I spent 12 years of my life every day, preparing for that moment, and I got there.

‘I thought to myself, “oh my god, did I build that character up so big, that I am stuck with him the rest of my life?” There was so much more to me than that photo, and I struggled with that for a long time.’

She went on while swatting away tears: 'My favourite part of being female, for me it's peace in my soul. I didn't have that as a male. I can say that I have never been in a better place in my life, with peace in mu soul and an opportunity to make a difference in the world'

She went on while swatting away tears: ‘My journey in life has been so interesting. Every story, especially of transitioning, is a different story. There is no right way to do this, there is only your way to do this.

‘And the quality of your life and meaning of your life is going to be determined by how we handle this journey. And for me it was a tough struggle. But somehow I got through it.

By the close of the episode, Big Brother called a flash eviction – locking the housemates in a lift until one of them was voted out.

Caitlyn offered herself up for eviction, telling her co-stars that she needs to get back to her campaign for governor of California.

‘I have to look at the big picture. I have been for the last three months in a campaign trying to take over the fifth largest economy in the world, California. I have a lot of people in California working for me trying to pull this off,’ she said.

With that, the former reality star bid a tearful farewell to her fellow housemates and headed back to America.

'I have to look at the big picture. I have been for the last three months in a campaign trying to take over the fifth largest economy in the world, California. I have a lot of people in California working for me trying to pull this off,' she said before leaving the house
