When it comes to getting the most likes on Instagram, food that looks good in pictures trumps taste every time.
And Anaheim, California ice cream store Snowopolis has taken the idea of making Instagram-worthy creations to the next level by inventing the ’24 Karat Pure Gold Ice Cream’.
Located near Disneyland, the shop is embodying the magical feel of the location the the special treat, which is made with edible gold.

Magic: Available exclusively at its Anaheim store, just around the corner from Disneyland, the magical creation retails for $14.95
Retailing at $14.95, the shiny treat features a waffle cone pre-sprayed with 24-karat gold dust is filled with vanilla soft serve. It is then decorated in a sheet of edible 24-karat gold leaf.
According to Hello Giggles, each cone takes approximately eight minutes to make.
And because the construction is so tricky and the raw materials are so expensive, only a select number of Snowopolis employees have been trained with the Midas touch.
Tiny wooden tongs are used to attach the gold leaf to the ice cream and the shimmering sheets of gold leaf must be applied one at a time.
‘It may look and taste rich, it’s a snip — priced at $14.95 a pop, which is, like, totally worth it for the ‘gram,’ the company wrote on an Instagram video of a woman eating the cone.
And just in case holding the blingtastic snack wasn’t extra enough, the edible gold leaf sticks to the lips of whoever is eating it, leaving a gold lipstick of sorts behind — Instagram gold.

While most people might flinch at the prospect of shelling out so much money on just one snack, it seems Snowopolis customers can’t get enough of it.
