California mother leaves her toddler alone in a stroller OUTSIDE an ice cream shop while she goes in

A video of a mother leaving her toddler in a stroller outside of an ice cream shop while she went in to order with her older child has horrified TikTok users.

An onlooker named Kate Graham became alarmed after she noticed that the small child was sitting by herself outside of an ice cream parlor in Monrovia in Los Angeles County, California.

She recorded the scene and shared the video on TikTok, where it quickly went viral – and commenters warned that while that might be perfectly safe in some other countries, it certainly is not in the US.

‘You ever want to snatch someone’s kid to teach them a lesson?’ Kate wrote in the video, which began with footage of the youngster waiting in the stroller outside by herself.

The camera then panned to the mom and her older daughter, who were ordering their food inside.

‘She straight up left her baby outside in Los Angeles,’ Kate continued.

The clip has now been viewed more than four million times, and many viewers were horrified that the child was left unattended.

‘LA is not one of those places [where that would be safe], that’s a place that will lead to your kid being taken and sold on the dark web,’ wrote one.

‘When in the U.S., especially California, you can not leave your kids alone anywhere, anytime. FYI,’ wrote another.

However, some commenters defended the mother, arguing that doing this is quite common in some other countries.

‘They do this in a lot of other countries, she probably really doesn’t know how awful people can be here,’ one person wrote.

‘It’s not common here but it’s pretty common where she come from,’ another speculated. ‘Even if it’s wrong, don’t be ignorant and joke about something like this. Someone just needs to tell her that’s not something safe to do in the states.’

‘In Norway and other Scandinavian [places] it is very common,’ someone else added.

‘Instead of teaching a lesson, go talk to them. There are some places that this a common occurrence and [she] may not realize,’ another comment read.

Yet more commenters still said that it doesn’t matter if this is common in other countries – it’s not common in the US and is unsafe there.

‘OK y’all, I get that “If she’s from another country, it might be safer there.” But guess what? She’s not in her country,’ said one TikTok user.

‘I’d keep my baby at the hip if I was in a new country and I didn’t know how safe it was. That’s just a bad mother,’ they added.

In another video, Kate, who recorded the clip, explained that the mom did eventually bring the baby inside after she and her friends called her out for it.

‘When she parked her stroller outside and came inside, I was like, “Is this really happening?”‘ she explained.

‘I looked outside for a father or a sister, anyone else – there was nobody. Other people in my group were like, “Whose baby is this? Why is she left outside?”

‘And then, all of a sudden, she realized we were talking about her and went outside to get the stroller and bring it inside.

‘To me, it didn’t seem like she was from another country, it didn’t seem like she didn’t know what she was doing.

‘At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter who she is or where she’s from or her cultural background. Know where you’re going. Protect your children,’ she said.

Kate reminded her viewers that ‘we live in a dangerous place,’ and encouraged moms to be more attentive to their kids.

‘I live in a small town, where cows is all we pretty much see. And even here, people are getting trafficked,’ she continued.

‘I have a personal friend who was followed into Target and and targeted and someone [tried] to snatch her children in the parking lot.

‘We live in a dangerous place, and if you’re going to go to another country, if you’re going to go anywhere, know where you’re going.

‘Our babies are most important. All mothers out there can attest to that.’

Kate added that isn’t the first time she has seen something like this happen, and she’s wanted to speak out about it for a long time.

She added: ‘There’s been so many times where I’ve been in a store and I see someone leave their child or they’re walking 10 feet in front of their baby, who can barely walk, and I’m thinking, “Are you serious? I can swoop up your baby and you wouldn’t even know. Or someone could kidnap your baby and run.” It’s the worst thing in the world.’

‘To the people saying I should have stepped up and done something, at the end of the day, the baby is safe,’ Kate concluded.

‘She did bring the baby inside, and I stand by what I say. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from, protect your kids.’
