Jenny Agutter has revealed Tom Cruise has impeded filming for her show Call The Midwife with his helicopter trips.

The actress, 69, who plays Sister Julienne in the BBC drama, warned the Hollywood movie star, 60, to stop ruining takes with his chopper.

Tom is currently filming the eighth installment of the Mission Impossible franchise in Surrey, at the same time that Call The Midwife shot its eleventh series.

Speaking to The Sun at the TV Choice Awards, Jenny said: ‘Tom Cruise keeps ruining our filming by landing his helicopter. Right where we’re shooting.

‘I don’t know what he’s doing! At Longcross where we film Call the Midwife. Tom.. get out of here!’

Tom has been seen piloting the helicopter to Longcross Film Studios in Chertsey, where he has been filming on and off for the past two years.

Jenny even threatened to scare off the action hero in her nun costume, saying: ‘I should go across in my habit.

‘Imagine. “Excuse me Tom but look we’re trying to film. I don’t know about you, but just get your helicopter out of here quickly!”‘

Jenny was awarded the coveted Best Actress prize for her role in Call The Midwife at the Awards on Monday night. 

The show was also awarded Best Family Drama, having previously received the prize in 2020 and 2021.

Jenny has starred as Sister Julienne since the show’s inception back in 2012.

Discussing its annual Christmas episode she said: ‘It’s so popular because I think because people see themselves in it.

‘What I love is that when people talk about it, they always find some personal element, whether it’s the period it’s in, or they know someone who is a midwife, or someone in their family is.’
