Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and head coach Kliff Kingsbury got into a heated sideline exchange in Thursday’s win over the New Orleans Saints, although both downplayed played the altercation with reporters during post-game press conferences.

‘We’re good,’ Murray said.

Thursday Night Football viewers could be forgiven for thinking otherwise.

The former Heisman Trophy winner was hollering at Kingsbury to ‘calm the f*** down’ twice after the Cardinals Coach called a panicked timeout in the second quarter of the 42-34 victory.

‘The clock was running down and we couldn’t have got off the play that we were trying to run,’ Murray told reporters. ‘So, it was, I guess it’s my fault. I’ll take it.’

The two continued arguing during the timeout until Cardinals receiver DeAndre Hopkins, making his return from a six-game performance-enhancing drug ban, stepped in to calm the situation.

‘He’s real animated over there on the sidelines sometimes,’ Murray said, referring to Kingsbury’s ‘antics.’

Murray didn’t appear to harbor any hard feelings afterwards.

‘We’re good,’ Murray said. ‘We’re going to make it right. We ended up scoring so that was good. But, yeah, that’s all I was saying, just chill out.

‘Doesn’t faze me or I don’t think it fazes him. We’re just trying to win. In the moment type of thing. After that we’re good.’

Kingsbury poked fun at the situation.

‘He said I didn’t look good on TV acting that fiery,’ Kingsbury quipped. ‘I don’t know, guess it’s a Gen Z thing. ”You’re on TV so calm down.”

‘I like showing emotion.’

Murray played reasonably well Monday, completing 20 of 29 passes for 204 yards and a touchdown, while adding another 30 yards on seven carries.  Most importantly, he connected with Hopkins 10 times for 104 yards as the Cardinals snapped an eight-game home losing streak.

Thursday’s game was knotted at 14 until Saints quarterback Andy Dalton tossed a pair of interceptions that were both returned for touchdowns.
