Calvin Harris has reportedly bought the unassuming Scottish pub he used to frequent before amassing his £230 million fortune.

While the world’s richest DJ, 41, might now be sober, he apparently could not pass up the opportunity to own the Coach & Horses pub in Dumfries.

The DJ is reported to have gone into business with his best friend Mark Irving to take over the local, which is said to be thriving despite the economic challenges obliterating many boozers in the UK.

A source told The Sun: ‘Calvin and Mark have gone into business together and created a company called To The Nines.

‘They’ve now taken over the Coach & Horses and Mark is in place as the landlord.

‘It’s a gorgeous pub with a great atmosphere. It’s a great grass-roots music venue too, which is something they’re both really proud of.’

The DJ’s connections to the pub will be no surprise to its patrons, who are likely already familiar with a signed picture of Harris on the wall.

The source added: ‘Calvin used to drink there before he got famous and there is a signed poster for his first album on the wall.

‘It’s a hard time for pubs but the Coach & Horses Inn is thriving.’

Calvin’s love of the local was previously revealed by former landlord, John Owens, who knew the star by his real name, Adam Wiles.

He said: ‘Calvin, or Adam, is a pleasant chap, always has been.

‘We’re all proud of him.

‘When he’s home he’ll pop in if he gets the chance.’

Calvin previously revealed that his drinking spiralled out of control before he quit for good in 2014.

He made the revelation on Twitter, now X, where he admitted to consuming two bottles of whisky a night alongside several baked goods from Greggs.

The DJ wrote: ‘Wouldn’t dream of encouraging anyone to drink 2 bottle of JD a night and live off Greggs the baker got me in a right old state my dear [sic].’

While Harris admitted in the 2018 exchange with fans that his life is ‘a bit less fun’, his health has improved.

He wrote: ‘Aye things are a bit less fun but haven’t had an arrhythmia since 2014 [sic]’

An arrhythmia is an irregular heartbeat, with the NHS reporting that the problem can have several causes including alcohol, smoking and drugs.
