Cameron Diaz enjoys her retirement as she takes in some retail therapy in New York City

She announced her retirement from acting in March after a swirl of rumors.

But Cameron Diaz still radiated movie star glamour when she was glimpsed swinging a shopping bag while crossing a street in Manhattan Thursday.

The 46-year-old swept her blonde hair behind her head and wrapped herself in a tartan scarf, staying cozy in a pristine off-white blazer.

Cameron’s most recent film was the 2014 remake of Annie, in which she played Miss Hannigan, the role originated in 1976 on Broadway by Dorothy Loudon and popularized further in the 1982 movie by comedy icon Carol Burnett.

This year, she described herself as ‘actually retired’ in an Entertainment Weekly retrospective interview about her 2002 film The Sweetest Thing.

She was looking back on the movie with her co-stars Selma Blair and Christina Applegate, and the subject of a potential reunion came up.

‘I’m literally doing nothing, too! I’m semi-retired, I haven’t worked for years. I’m a mom, that’s what we do. So I’m around, man,’ said Christina.

Cameron piped up: ‘That’s so awesome. I’m totally down. I’m semi-retired, too, and I am actually retired, so I would love to see you ladies.’

Benji has an identical twin called Joel, who on top of also being in Good Charlotte performs in a double act with his sibling imaginatively called The Madden Brothers.

Joel has been married since 2010 to reality-star-turned-sitcom actress Nicole Richie, with whom he has two children – daughter Harlow, 10, and son Sparrow, eight.

Nicole, who is the daughter of Lionel Richie and the half-sister of 35-year-old Scott Disick’s 19-year-old girlfriend Sofia, has claimed she introduced Benji and Cameron.

‘I’m going to take responsibility for everything!’ Nicole quipped to Andy Cohen on a 2014 episode of Watch What Happens Live, according to Us Weekly.
