The pregnant partner of NRL star Cameron Munster has blasted the trolls that have been sending ‘death threats’ to her family following the ‘white powder’ scandal.

Munster and Melbourne Storm teammates Brandon Smith and Chris Lewis were filmed in a hotel room with a white substance on the table a day after their preliminary final loss to Penrith last month.

With the footage running wild on social media the NRL handed out huge fines and one match bans to each player with Munster copping a heavy $30,000 fine.

The Storm went in even harder on the 27-year-old, with Munster given a suspended fine of $100,000, banned from drinking alcohol for a year and stood down from the leadership group.

He has since entered a four-week rehabilitation program.

His partner, Bianca McMahon, who is seven months pregnant, shared a heartfelt insight into the pain she and Munster have felt in the fallout of the scandal.

‘Just imagine, having your life under a microscope since you were a teenager. Being judged, criticised and bashed through every media outlet in the country if you stepped one foot out of line,’ she said in a now deleted post.

‘Just imagine, receiving negative messages and death threats towards you, your family and your unborn child.

‘Just imagine, being attacked and scrutinised, after you’ve endured family loss, baby loss and two years of uncertainty, all whilst trying to uphold a public image and maintain the professional pressures in your workplace.’

The couple suffered a miscarriage within the last year and Ms McMahon’s mother passed away from cancer in March.

She said while she wasn’t defending Munster’s behaviour, it was unfair for others to question his integrity without ‘knowing anything about who you are as a person’.

‘But most importantly, we all have hearts and this man has the biggest, kindest, most caring heart anyone would be lucky to ever come across.’

Ms McMahon removed the post and replaced it with another statement, to clarify she was not ‘making excuses’ for his behaviour and had felt the pressure herself.

‘I know he’s stuffed up and he knows he’s stuffed up. I also know this isn’t the first time he’s misbehaved,’ she said.

‘After all that’s happened over the last two weeks, I just want to focus on the fact that he’s actually taking this time to become a better man, a better partner and a better footballer.

‘He has a massive heart and I know he’s going to come out of this better and stronger in every way.’

Munster has three weeks left of his stay in rehab and is due to come out in time for the birth of he and Ms McMahon’s child.

In the fallout from the scandal, the footballer said he had had a ‘difficult relationship’ with alcohol and that he needed to take further steps to deal with the issue.

‘Clearly I still have some hurdles to overcome,’ he said.

‘I know I’ve let a lot of people down and I’ll do whatever it takes to restore your faith in me.

‘I want the kids out there to know that my behaviour was not OK. I owe it to you to be a better role model, and I’ll strive to do that in future.

‘I truly am sorry guys and I’ll definitely be making a change.’
