The Duchess of Cornwall confirmed today that she and her husband will be the first royals to set foot in Cuba when they visit the Communist country this spring.
Camilla, 71, said she was looking forward to listening to the music and seeing the architecture of the country, but confessed she ‘wasn’t so sure’ about the food.
Speaking on a visit to the Supreme Court on London with Prince Charles, the royal confirmed speculation that they will undertake an historic official tour to the Caribbean country.

Baroness Hale, the president of the Supreme Court, spoke to the duchess about the Caribbean as she and Prince Charles toured the courtroom where the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council sits.
Lady Hale said afterwards: ‘They are going to visit the Caribbean. They are not only going to the Anglo Caribbean, they are going to Cuba as well.
‘She is very much looking forward to going to Cuba. It will be quite an event for members of the royal family to visit Cuba.

‘She said she loved the music and was interested in the architecture. And she did make a remark about she wasn’t so sure about the food.’
The trip, which will be part of a large-scale Caribbean tour, would have been unthinkable just a few years ago, as the country was emerging from six decades of leadership under the dictator Fidel Castro and his family.
However Charles met with the new Cuban president, Miguel Diaz-Canel, at Clarence House in November, in a major breakthrough for diplomatic relations.
Barack Obama became the first US president to visit Cuba in 2016, but no British prime minister has ever been there or member of the Royal Family.
Overseas visits by Prince Charles are almost of the status of state visits now that the Queen no longer does overseas travel.
They are at the request of the Foreign Office, and reflect Britain’s foreign policy aims and ambitions.
