This weekend, an Instagram fan account in honour of Prince Albert II of Monaco shared a throwback snap of the 64-year-old.

Delighting royal enthusiasts, the image showed a young Prince Albert, aged four at the time, waving at the camera while dressed in a sailor’s hat and cream knitted jumper. 

His older sister Princess Caroline and his mother, the late American actress and princess, Grace Kelly, are pictured behind him in the 1962 photo.

‘He was and is the same… such a beautiful photo! Love it! Thank you for sharing it,’ commented one enthusiastic follower.
