It’s rare you’ll see a celebrity on Instagram looking anything but perfect.
But in their quest to present the most flawless version of themselves, stars from around the world are going to extreme lengths to edit their selfies.
Unfortunately, many of them aren’t successful in their attempts to disguise their digital enhancements, with fans accusing them of ‘Photoshop fails’ almost daily.
From Hollywood A-listers to Married At First Sight stars, Daily Mail Australia looks back at some of the worst Instagram gaffes in recent years.

Lindsay Lohan’s wonky wall
In 2015, Lindsay Lohan suffered the most epic of fails in one home picture.
The actress was ridiculed across social media as a dramatically warped wall around her pert derrière suggested it was badly tweaked before posting.
In editing programs, the warp tool allows a user to reshape parts of their body, but becomes obvious as other areas of the picture become distorted as a result.

MISSING: Ines Basic’s right knee
Earlier this month, Ines Basic came under fire from fans when they noticed a bizarre anomaly in her latest racy snap on Instagram.
The Married At First Sight star flaunted her slender figure in a body-hugging dress, but appeared to have accidentally airbrushed her right knee off.
‘I’m confused where you right knee is?’ many baffled fans commented.

The mystery of Martha’s wobbly arm
Martha Kalifatidis’ recent trip to Cairns was the perfect spot for Instagram content.
But one picture, taken among some tropical trees, left fans baffled as they questioned what is going on with her impossibly curved forearm.
She’s denied editing the snap, with the flash from her camera in the ‘dark’ setting casting shadows from the branches across parts of her arm, making it look unusual.

Of course Martha is no stranger to slightly tweaking her photographs.
During her time on Married At First Sight she was busted editing promotional pictures from Nine, after the original versions had already been published.

Did Kylie Jenner’s pillow give the game away?
Kylie Jenner was recently accused of editing a picture alongside friend Anastasia Karanikolaou while on holiday in Turks and Caicos.
With the pair seen posing on a sofa, many fans questioned why the stripes on the pillow behind them appeared warped and distorted.
It is unclear if the makeup mogul did tweak the picture, or if the ‘fail’ is simply an unfortunate trick of the eye.

Love Island star’s one-legged disaster
In January, Love Island Australia couple Amelia Marni and Josh Moss left fans scratching their heads after sharing a photo from their holiday in Bali.
Posing beside the pool in their luxury villa, Josh’s Instagram followers soon began wondering why his girlfriend had only one leg.
In the photo, 22-year-old Amelia posed with her legs folded while Josh, 25, placed an arm over her thigh.
Josh’s hand placement unfortunately had an ‘optical illusion’ effect and made it look like Amelia’s thighs had morphed into one.
It also appeared her limbs had been ‘smoothed over’ with a filter or photo editing program, accidentally erasing the gap between her legs.

Amanda Holden’s holiday horizon
Amanda Holden’s holiday picture went viral for all the wrong reasons in 2016.
As the British star showcased her incredible beach body on Instagram, fans were quick to accuse her of a huge ‘Photoshop fail’.
Looking beyond the star, who was gazing out to sea, the horizon of the ocean either side of her was unusually wonky, suggesting something had been edited.
Adding to the mystery, Amanda abruptly deleted the snap amid criticism.

The theory behind Bachelor Jake’s bicep
In 2017, a warped wall behind Jake Ellis’ kitchen selfie led to suggestions across social media he’d digitally boosted his bicep.
However, Jake insisted at the time he only used a filter before posting the picture.
‘Honestly [I] only know how to edit a photo with an Instagram filter or a depth effect photo using an iPhone. That’s the extent of it,’ he explained.

Watch your step, Beyonce!
Pop superstar Beyonce has long been accused of editing her pictures.
But in 2014, it appeared the artist didn’t have a step to stand on, when one vacation photograph suggested her thigh-gap had been heavily edited.
Whereas the set of stairs she was photographed on were perfectly horizontal in most of the picture, one was disjointed in the small area seen between her legs.

Tammy’s truck doesn’t look right
Instagram star Tammy Hembrow is known for her sensational curves, which she regularly showcases on social media.
But in May, the 25-year-old star came under fire for curves of a different kind in a racy Instagram snap.
Eagle-eyed fans were drawn away from the star’s sizzling washboard abs to the side of the picture, which saw a seemingly-curved truck.
Tammy, however, did have some supporters, with one die-hard fan saying it was the natural curve of the balcony’s glass.

Jules’ makes dummy error as a mummy?
In late June, Jules Robinson underwent an ‘International Body Wrap’, which removes toxins from the body, blasts away cellulite and takes centimeters off one’s waistline.
But, as first pointed out by NW, the Married At First Sight star’s picture from the treatment baffled fans due to the wonky bedspread behind.

In 2017, The Bachelor’s Florence Alexandra flaunted her pert derriere in a sizzling bikini shot at St Kilda Beach in Melbourne.
But fans were distracted that the background behind her appeared to curve with an unnatural wave, with the wooden beams of boardwalk also bending.
